    ①Spodumene A12O3·Li2O·4Si02, containing Li2O4.5%~8%.
    It floats easily with oleic acid and its soaps if its surface is pure, but it loses its floatability if its surface is polluted by mud in the slurry or by weathering. In addition, some dissolved salt ions (copper, iron and aluminum ions, etc.) in the pulp not only activate spodumene, but also activate gangue minerals, so desliming and alkali treatment are required before flotation. In the presence of sodium hydroxide, spodumene's recovery rate increases with increasing dosage, and the stirring time is shortened accordingly. The recovery rate increases with increasing stirring intensity. The recovery rate can be increased by 40% if the speed is increased seven times.

    Spodumene floats well in both neutral and alkaline media when oleic or naphthenic acids are used as collectors. Only weakly alkaline or neutral media can float spodumene when octadecyl mine and sodium phosphonate are used as collectors. Sodumene floats best when oleic acid is used as a collector, sodium fluoride and lignosulfonate are used as regulators, and sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate are used to adjust the pH to 7-7.5.

    Activated spodumene can be floated with anionic or cationic collectors. If the amount of oleic acid is high, unactivated spodumene is also difficult to float.
    Spodumene is strongly inhibited by water glass, dextrin, and starch, regardless of the collector used. The selectivity of starch is the best, followed by that of dextrin. Inhibition of spodumene occurs first, followed by inhibition of gangue. Water glass, however, has poor selectivity, inhibiting both spodumene and gangue simultaneously.

    Podumene particles are usually smaller than 0.15 mm in size during flotation. The flotation recovery rate is 61% when the particle size is 0.2mm, and 22% when the particle size is 0.3mm. Spodumene flotation is characterized by coarse particles that are difficult to float.
